Derbez is making his second Championship start in 2026. In 2025, the University of Texas sophomore won two World Amateur Golf Ranking events in Mexico and finished T-6 as an individual while representing his country in the Eisenhower Trophy in Singapore. Before beginning his collegiate career, he won the Western Junior Amateur and earned junior All-America honors in 2022.
