Safa is making his fourth Championship start in 2026. He has top-25 finishes in each of the past three editions of the Latin America Amateur and has improved his result each year. The University of Southern California senior finished third in the South American Amateur in Argentina on January 11 and late in 2025, he had one win and three top-15 finishes for his team during the fall schedule.
