Fortlage is making his fourth Championship start. He has top-15 finishes in each of the past two years of the Latin America Amateur. In 2024, he won World Amateur Golf Ranking events in Paraguay and Uruguay, finished fourth in the Mexican Amateur and reached the quarterfinals of the Argentine Amateur. In 2023, he won the South American Junior Championship in Bolivia, finished runner-up in the Argentine Stroke Play Championship and represented Paraguay in the Pan American Games in Chile.
