Huerta is making his second Championship start. In 2024, he won the Caribbean Amateur Championship in the Dominican Republic and finished runner-up in the Caribbean Junior Championship in Jamaica and T-24 in the South American Amateur in Colombia. He has won the Dominican Republic National Junior Championship in each of the past three years.
