Villavicencio is making his eighth Championship start. He has four top-16 finishes in the Latin America Amateur, including T-12 in 2019 in the Dominican Republic and 2024 in Panama. In 2024, he won four World Amateur Golf Ranking events in Guatemala. He was the first golfer representing Guatemala to compete in both the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Mid-Amateur Championships and has represented his country in each of the past four editions of the Eisenhower Trophy.
