Schonbaum is making his ninth Championship start. He has four top-25 finishes in the Latin America Amateur, including T-11 in 2020 in Mexico and T-19 in 2018 in Chile. In 2024, he won two World Amateur Golf Ranking events in Argentina, finished ninth in the George L. Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club in Florida and reached the Round of 64 in the U.S. Mid-Amateur in Virginia. He won the Argentine Amateur Championship in 2021 and 2022 and in 2023, he became the regional development manager for Latin America and the Caribbean for The R&A.
