Ortega is making his fourth Championship start. In 2024, he won one World Amateur Golf Ranking event and recorded top-10 finishes in events in Paraguay and Argentina. His 2023 included finishing runner-up in the Paraguayan National Match Play and representing his country in the South American Amateur Team Championship in Colombia.
