Lacayo is making his sixth Championship start in 2026. In 2025 in Argentina, he improved his opening-round 89 by 20 strokes with a 69 at Pilar Golf Club to set a new Latin America Amateur record for most contrasting rounds. Last September, the Sacred Heart University senior finished third for his team in the SHU Men’s Fall Classic.
